Rebecca and Richard | Hassop Hall, nr Bakewell, Derbyshire
It was a wintery day at Hassop Hall Hotel yesterday but it was warm inside for Rebecca and Richard’s civil wedding.
The day started with Rebecca getting ready in the Boudoir at the hall. The boudoir is an opulent room with silk ceiling coverings and ornate mirrors. It overlooks the ballroom so Rebecca could spy on guests as they arrived.

Once hair and makeup were complete, it was upstairs to put the dress on.

Rebecca’s bridesmaid, Beth, was so pretty!

Then it was into the ballroom for the ceremony. The spotlights that bathe the front of the room make for some striking lighting effects in the winter when it’s getting dark outside.

The surroundings at Hassop give a timeless feel to the photographs. Richard and Rebecca looked so stylish too! Richard wore a fab tux with a white bow-tie. In fact all of the men (bar a scotsman or two) wore black tie, so it was a very smart affair.

It was pouring with rain and light was almost gone by the time Rebecca and Richard left the Ballroom at returned to the main house for drinks. It was a quick dash across with a big umbrella – check out the fabulous boots that Rebecca was wearing!

The cake looked delicious and was made by Rebecca and Richard’s mums.

It was then time for dinner and the receiving line. Receiving lines can be a little dull if you are small…

Part way through dinner there was a power cut and the only lighting was by candles! This shot was taken on a tripod with a 15 second exposure to try and capture some of the atmosphere during the candlelit meal.

Despite the power cut lasting into the evening, a generator appeared from somewhere and was used to power the DJ’s equipment. The first dance was “Better Together” by Jack Johnson.

Congratulations to Richard and Rebecca! The rest of the photographs will be online soon; to be notified when they are available, please fill in our notification request form.
