Cathy and Jamie married at the exclusive Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in the village of Great Milton in Oxfordshire.  It was our second visit to Le Manoir and our first at Christmas-time.  Le Manoir is the restaurant and hotel of the acclaimed chef, Raymond Blanc.  It is a fantastic venue for an intimate wedding with friends and family.

Le Manoir pay a lot of attention to detail, even the bedrooms had beautifully decorated real Christmas trees.

Cathy (on the right) was helped in her preparations by one of bridesmaids, Lucie.

Champagne was a perfect way to ease the nerves!

Guests arrvied as dusk was turning to night.

Cathy and Jamie’s daughter, Evie, was a flower girl and carried this gorgeous little bouquet.

Night was drawing in as the ceremony was about to start.

A friend gave a touching reading.

Evie took a keen interest in the proceedings throughout!

After signing the register it was down the short aisle and then time with friends and family.

Le Manoir have possibly the best looking bread rolls!

The staff were kind enough to let us into the kitchen to take some photographs of the food being prepared for the wedding breakfast.  Here was the first of 8 courses; oyster wasabi.

This weekend we went to Edgbaston Old Church and Hotel du Vin in Birmingham for Laura and Simon’s winter wedding.  Stephen started the day with Simon and the boys as they made their final ‘preparations’ in the morning!

Meanwhile I was with the girls who actually were preparing!

The boys did eventually get ready and stopped at the pub en-route to church.

Laura made some finishing touches…

… and then left the Hotel du Vin for church.

Simon was ready and waiting.

Time to get married!

Then outside to greet the guests; some a little shyer than others.

Cool car huh?!!  This cadillac was absolutely immaculate and chosen by Laura who is a real petrol-head by all accounts!

Back at the Hotel du Vin it was champagne and mulled wine to drink.

With Christmas just around the corner the place names and favours were all rolled into one – a cracker for each guest at their table settings.

This was the first time we have seen a groom get a gift of Bisto gravy from his new father-in-law!

The best-man did a fine job of his speech and finished the speeches with a toast to Laura and Simon.
